Corr-Tite Concrete Embedment

Concrete Embedment Linings

Concrete liners are made with PVC, LLDPE and HDPE and are generally 60-65 mil thickness. Depending on the material, the lining can be white, blue or black in color.

Concrete is the most versatile, reliable and available building material on earth. However, when concrete is left exposed to various chemical elements, it fails.

Resicon's Corr-Tite High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE), Polypropylene (PP), and PVC lining systems effectively isolate both precast and cast-in-place concrete structures from all types of environmental exposure.

Because of its ability to elongate under stress, Corr-Tite bridges cracks that occur in concrete as it shrinks, minimizing exposure.
Corr-Tite lined systems eliminate damage due to most chemical, groundwater and weather exposure, creating long lasting, effective containment structures.

What is Core-Tite?

Concrete lining is being used throughout the US and abroad, lining water and sewer lines.  These linings provide protection from chemicals and other attacking sources anywhere concrete surfaces come into contact with corrosive agents, including alkaline solutions, aggressive salts, solvents and gasses.
This includes sewage systems, waste water treatment facilities and similar.

Corr-Tite is manufactured from very high quality combinations of poly-vinyl chloride plasticizers and  polyethylene.   The inner formulation contains not less than 99% PVC resin by weight of the raw blended materials, supplying our customers with a high quality PVC product that will provide the stringent requirements needed for sewer applications and many other instances where chemical resistance
is mandatory.

Corr-Tite Embedment Linings will Provide Superb Protection in all Types of Applications

Concrete pipe Corr-Tite linings are now being widely used to protect the concrete pipe from acid solutions, diluted solvents, petroleum-based products, animal and vegetable oils, alkali chemicals and all types of bacteria.  These linings are mechanically locked into the pipe at the time of manufacturing, using a 270 degree or 360 degree coverage depending on amount of protection that is desired.  If the flow in the pipe varies a great deal then more coverage would be desired for the entire pipe.

Once cast into concrete and properly embedded, the material will withstand 100 lbs per lineal inch of pull out force, when tested in accordance with recognized industry standards.

Any angle of a concrete pipe can be protected.  There are no limits to any specific project, and depending on the manufacturer of the concrete pipe, a special fabricated liner may want to be used and then cut away, leaving the liner needed.

Corr-Tite pipe linings are made with a continuous protruding lateral rib profile that runs the whole length of the material, spaced apart about every 2½”.  These ribs are about ⅜” high with a ¼” wide top section.  These ribbed strips are embedded into the concrete at the time of pipe manufacturing.

In the installation process a strip of PVC, LLDPE, PP or HDPE plastic is heat welded across the adjacent pipe sections at the joints, thus making a continuous protected concrete pipeline.  If a pipe is below the groundwater elevation then a weld strip is omitted at the invert.  The linings have also been tested to resist 40 psi (92-foot head) of water pressure with out dislodging the interlocking material from the concrete.  This pressure was applied to the backside of the material where the lining is bonded to the concrete pipe.  A spark test is also performed on the material at the manufacturing plant to ensure any possible pinholes in the liner are repaired immediately.

Production

All flat and ribbed membranes are monolithically extruded using single and twin-screw extruders.  All sheets are 100% spark tested and are assigned unique serial/batch numbers.

Corr-Tite linings are made with a continuous protruding lateral rib profile that runs the entire length of the material, with the "T's" or ribs being spaced   apart about every 2½”   (standard size) and can be custom ordered in other widths. These standard ribs are about ⅜” high   with a ¼” wide top section.

Western Environmental Liner custom fabricates panels in your specified dimensions, from a flat sheet to a complete tube  (manholes, etc.) shape.

Tensile strength and elongation are tested in accordance with ASTM D412.

We can provide you with a lining that will suit your project.
