MATERIAL SELECTION
Material selection can at times be a confusing proposition. Western Environmental Liner strives to give you the best value product for your application. The materials below are ranked in the order of what normally would be the least expensive to the most expensive. All of these products can be welded together to the size you need in our factory. Western Environmental Liner does provide other product options other than the ones below, but in most instances these products provide the best value.
AQUA Series for non hazardous containment
Western Environmental Liner’s Aqua series is normally the best value product for non hazardous containment. Made out of very high quality woven coated polyethylene, the Aqua series has excellent tear resistance. In addition, our Aqua 24 has excellent U.V. resistance characteristics as well. For temporary applications under three years our Aqua 12 & 15 mil products are an excellent choice. For long term non hazardous applications (from 4 to 20 + years) our Aqua 24 mil product is a great value and often the best choice.
PVC Liners for non hazardous and hazardous containment.
PVC works very well for many hazardous containment applications such as landfills, it can also work well for fresh water applications. Due to PVC being a film and having limited uv resistance often times it is best to bury PVC to prevent breakdown if the application will be longer than a couple years.
Reinforced Polypropylene for non hazardous and hazardous containment
Reinforced Polypropylene is an excellent choice for most exposed hazardous containment applications. Reinforced Polypropylene has excellent tear resistance and u.v. resistance with 15 and 20 year warranties available. Reinforced Polypropylene also works well with non hazardous containment.
Xr5 for Hazardous containment for oil and other highly caustic hydrocarbons.
Xr5 is the best choice in the industry today for hydrocarbons such as oil that would damage almost all other materials on the market. Xr5 comes with a 10 year primary containment warranty for most hydrocarbons.
